this kitty with claws is back >> chase her forever
This was not how their relationship was supposed to go. The two of them were not supposed to part ways and lose all of themselves, lose everything that they had worked so hard for. It wasn’t the lack of love that had driven them apart. It seemed to be everything else and it caused an ache in his heart.
He should have left Paris, he should have left Europe period and went back to Mystic Falls where his family was, and instead he didn’t. Going back there meant that they would prove everyone right, and that was something he couldn’t have. Them being right would only make all of this worse.
Not that he was sure any of this could get any worse. Losing the woman he loved more than anything, the love of his life, well, that was more painful than he could ever begin to admit.
Instead he stayed in the city. Every day he was reminded about the love that the two had shared there. The fun they had, the arguments they had. The one place he never went back to was the house that they had shared, he couldn’t bring himself to go back there. It was a mix of pain and pleasure, and some days he felt like he was going to completely crumble.
Months had passed and things felt a little easier but they also felt a little more difficult. Moving on was harder than it should have been. Most women had reminded him of Katerina. His thoughts would often drift back to her. The little fights they had, the big fights they had, the texts, the vacations, the journeys.
One night he had found himself in a bar. It was better than seeing in the Paris hotel room that he had spent most of his nights in. He had not been in the city for the entire three months they had been apart. Simply weeks here and there, and somehow he was still there. Almost wishing he could catch a glimpse of her.
When he heard the voice he almost thought his mind had been playing a trick on him, but the longer he looked the more he knew it was her.
He’d know her anywhere.
Elijah waited for her to have a drink before deciding to actually walk over to her. He needed to give himself a moment to join her or many moments as it turned out.
It was the only word he uttered as he took a seat directly next to her. Whether they liked it or not this was where they were. The pain in his heart was still there but walking away from her was no option. Not now. Not again.
As the bartender came back with the bottle in hand, Katherine simply grabbed it from him, leaning back over the bar to grab a tumbler. He looked at her confused for the moment, noting the hold she still had on the bottle and his wrist. Sitting back down she simply patted his hand, before pouring herself enough for a shot in the glass. “Good boy.” she praised much like she would an obedient animal. “Come back in 30 minutes and check on me.” Making a motion with her hand she shooed him away.
Katherine looked into her glass, her pointer finger tracing idly around the rim for a moment. Her mind once again going back to Elijah, wondering what he was doing at that very moment. There wasn’t any doubt in her mind that he had joined his family the moment he left. That thought deserved another drink. Slamming back the first shot. Katherine poured a second right after, not even taking a breath before she slammed it back once again.
She needed to be numb, her head to be foggy, she didn’t want to think and most of all she didn’t want to feel. Feelings and her humanity is what got her into this situation in the first place. What happened to not allowing love to get in the way?
Shaking her head she brought the glass to her lips for a third time before stopping halfway.
It was only one word, one very simple word but the voice, that accent that accompanied it. It was one she would know anywhere, the very same one that haunted her dreams, and memories. Except it couldn’t be… could it? Katherine inhaled deeply, her eyes closing again for a minute as she finished what she started. Taking that drink. Counting to three mentally she exhaled, turning her head to look over at him. There he was sitting a few inches away from her, after months of no contact, not so much as a phone call and Katherine was speechless.
The younger vampire just sat there frozen looking at him, afraid that if she turned away even for a second he would disappear. Her heart felt like it was in her throat as she desperately searched for a word, a phrase anything that embodied everything she was feeling at that moment. But there wasn’t one. It was impossible. Instead Katherine said the only thing she could think of in that moment…
Katherine had no idea why she was still in Paris, it was obvious by this point there was nothing left for her there. Paris was suppose to be this fresh start not just for her, but for them. Her and Elijah. Just thinking about him, caused her eyes to close tightly and that pain to once again return in her cold, dead, heart. This wasn’t how their life together was suppose to go. Then again what life now?
Three months had gone by since Elijah walked out that door, and never came back. She had done it, successfully pushed away the one man who was willing to give up everything for her. The one man who believed in her enough to give her a clean slate. A new life. But she ruined it, along with her petty insecurities about his family, and ex dead love, Tatia.
She had played the argument over in her head a thousand times, wishing she would of done it differently. Done it all differently. It was too late now. It took them six hundred years just to get a chance to be together and she sabotaged it not just once, but twice. Could she really blame him for not looking back?
The brunette needed to move on, not just from this city but from Elijah, however, her heart wasn’t making it quite that easy. After walking around for about an hour she found herself at one of the very famous bars in the area. The one Elijah had found her at once before, after one of their many fights. Maybe it was just a coincidence or maybe it was that completely illogical side of her that still wanted to hold out hope. Hope that fate would take a hand in bringing them back together.
Mentally she scoffed at herself. Fate, hope, love? God, she had turned into a soft, codependent, weak woman. The kind she loathed, and judged all her life. Deciding not to give it a second thought, she opted for a distraction. Sauntering over to the bar she leaned her slender body forward over the dark wood grabbing the bartender’s attention immediately. Her dark brown eyes meeting his ocean blue orbs.
“I want you to pay extra, special attention to me. Anything I want I get. No questions. Understand?”
The rather attractive male bartender just simply shook his head.
“Perfect.” Katherine mused with her usual smirk. “Now get me a bottle of your most expensive bourbon.”
It was obvious the Petrova was looking for trouble, self destructive behavior that matched her self loathing, equally. It was going to be a long night.
This is me
and this is Katherine
He definitely had time to get finished before Katherine got ho- before she arrived in Mystic Falls. Quite a lot on his plate, but it wasn’t unmanageable. He glanced at the time. Probably had another couple of hours, minimum, and she’d probably swing by the boarding house to steal a few blood bags as well.
So he certainly wasn’t expecting the door to open, when it did, only twenty minutes later; Katherine, with suitcases (a matching set, of course. What was it about women and matching luggage? … lot of luggage, now that he thought about it).
He grinned, sitting back in his chair; watching her lip curl arrogantly as she crossed the room but since she was actually also walking, it was impossible not to stare at her hips, the way her breasts strained the fabric of her shirt.
No. Work. Work. He had a deadline. Just a couple more hours…
She sat up on the desk, on his papers. “Should I get your slippers? Pour you a martini?” He let his hands settle on her thighs as she leaned in. He had to admit, it still felt a little too good to be true, Kitty coming home to roost, wanting to be part of his life again. But as her lips met his throat, he stopped questioning it. He shifted his hands from her thighs to her face, cupping her cheeks, angling her face until he could kiss her. Soft, a second, but they were still them, no matter what had transpired in the meantime, so it got rough, heated, quickly, until Alaric pulled away ruefully.
“I, um. I’m sorry, babe, but I just… I wasn’t expecting you this early. Could I get maybe two hours, to finish this up? Swear I’ll make it up to you… until dawn.” He kissed over her jaw, up to the spot below her ear. “Please?”
"Mmm.. that doesn’t sound like a terrible idea." she murmured against his skin, pressing a light kiss to his skin. "But why waste the time when everything I want at the moment is in front of me." Her tongue trailed down the expanse of his throat, and moving over just a tad to his neck grazing her teeth against him. It had been three days. Three days without his hands on her body, his mouth against hers. That perfect cock inside her hot little cunt. To say she was simply just horny would be an understatement. It was more a physical need at this point and not just for sex, but for Alaric.
His rough hands moved to either side of her face pulling her away from his neck, and angling her face just so. Lips parted slightly she looked at him with a certain hunger, passion burning in those dark brown eyes. His lips found her’s moving slowly, gently; before they both got lost in it. It heated up quickly causing a sound of approval to leave Katherine’s lips, moving to the edge of the desk trying to get closer. Their tongues mingled together, deepening the kiss. The vampire sucked on his tongue in attempt to get him more riled up and that’s when it ended; much to her dismay.
"What the hell?!" she snapped giving him a look of irritation, breathing a little heavier then usual.
"Can you honestly tell me you can work after a kiss like that? That you won’t be thinking of me naked wrapped up in your sheets and withering underneath you?" Who said she ever played fair. Running the palms of her hands down his chest, she pouted her lips not looking into his eyes. Instead just concentrating on how his chest looked in that shirt, how much better it would look on the floor. Slowly she undid the first three buttons tracing her pointer finger down the skin she exposed, as he started to kiss over her jaw and then to that spot. That secret spot just below her ear that not too many people knew about. The one that immediately got her hot, bothered, and wet.
Katherine rolled her eyes, and sighed impatiently pulling back so she could meet his gaze. “Fine, but don’t expect me to wait” she taunted hoping off his desk. “Looks like I’ll have to take care of myself for now.” Moving behind him she wrapped her arms around the front of him, her mouth right by his ear as she took his lobe into her mouth sucking on it with intent. “Just ignore the moaning.”
Taking off her shirt she let it fall into his lap before turning around and heading towards the bathroom. Leaving a trail of her clothes along the way.
It had been a few weeks since Katherine and Alaric had rekindled their love affair. Forgiving and forgetting (mostly on Alaric’s part). Katherine could define herself as happy, he made her happy and it wasn’t until they were apart that she really realized it. They still didn’t make sense, and in the long run they still could never work, but that was a challenge for a different time. Things to be dealt with in the future, for now Katherine was right where she wanted to be; with her human love affair.
The vampire opened the door to the loft with enough bags in hand that she looked like she was moving in. She had spent the weekend back in Chicago, gathering her belongings from when she stayed there. That dark time they weren’t together. Katherine made herself and him a promise, that she would make it up to him, that she would never find an excuse not to be with him. He was now essentially stuck with her.
"Honey I’m home." she called out in a teasing tone, closing the door behind her. "I know what this looks like, but no I’m not moving in. I just decided to come here and see you first.” Piling all the bags by the door she turned around to see Alaric working, his serious, concentrated face on. Something she was going to have to quickly change.
In a flash she was right in front of him, sitting strategically on his desk. All his important papers under her tiny, firm ass. Leaning forward she wrapped her arms around his neck, nuzzling her nose under his chin as her plump lips ghosted over his throat.
